Building Projects

After critical analysis of the condition of the building & to fulfill the operational need of the Sanatan Mandir, following 2 projects have been prioritized for implementation.

Project No.1 Repair/replacement of the Roof.
Roof bearing structure (trusses & tie bars) and the upper roof of the main building of Sanatan Mandir, are bended and weakened due to the age of the building and needs renewal or extensive upgrading. Consulting Engineering companies i.e. Stener Sørensen Drammen and Frydenlund & Høyer Hønefoss, have been contacted for the professional advise. According to the consultants, the roof structure is getting weaker and weaker and needs immediate renewal/strengthening. In case of heavy snow fall, snow must be removed from the roof until the necessary improvements are done. Comprehensive check report and proposal for improvement have been prepared by the consultant. To ensure the safety of the building, this project should be completed as soon as possible.

Project No.2 Extension of the building. Project extension of the building includes new kitchen, storage area for the kitchen supplies & utensils and extension of the ladies cloakroom area. Total extension of the building area will be approx 50 square meters. Approval from the building authority has been received. This project should be completed after completing the roof project. (More detail)

Four main reasons to complete this project
  • Ladies cloakroom is small and needs to be extended.
  • Existing kitchen not suitable for large programs and activities.
  • Existing kitchen area could be turned into the children activities room (As no such area exists today)
  • Lack of storage area for kitchen supplies & utensils.

Members are requested to donate generously for this holy work.(more detail)
